![]() ![]() There are still some unexpected ‘gotchas’ that I found in a few of my own MMDs, plus a few genuine bugs to correct, but generally it’s looking pretty good for the Import side. It's exhausting sometimes to have to go to extended tags, see what is there and then spend 10 minutes finding what all the tags are called and then adding it to a profile. Thanks in advance to all concerned for further comments/info/guidance! Progress Report: I have got the ‘basics’ working, optional recursion of directories etc. Support bmcelvan September 6, 2018, 3:25pm 1 I am wondering if there is a way to get Mp3tag to export ALL of the metadata in tags versus just what we define. Also, is the current standard NOT to put the entry into an MMD? Finally, I have found some older MMDs here contain a tag but no opening nor any data (!): I presume this is again a factor of being an MMD of a specific age? To Torben: If you have any kind of XSD or similar ‘layout’ file for MMDs, that would be a very helpful thing for me to have to make further progress with this project. ![]() At present, I’m ignoring those but could incorporate them if you wish/need. CueIn plus three Alternatives) be enough, or should I cater for four, five, six…? Apart from Title, Artist, and all cue points, would you need or want Other Stuff stored? I’m thinking about Comments, the Picture tag, and Attributes like Album and Year which appear in MMDs if present in the original MP3 tags. To Charlie: Will three Alternative cue points per cue point (i.e. It can rename files based on the tag information, replace characters or words from tags and filenames, import/export tag information, create playlists and. ![]() Hence I’m abandoning the Export idea for the moment. Alt + T allows for viewing and editing all supported tag fields and cover art for individual files and multiple files at once. Just placing functionality in the render dialog isn't much different at all than just using something like MP3Tag after the fact.To Ron: Further testing has shown that MMD content is enormously ‘variable.’ I’m not planning to store everything in the MMD file in the resulting spreadsheet (I don’t use Comments nor Pictures/Icons, for example: do you?) hence if I were to ‘write back’ what I’ve stored as an MMD file, info would be lost as a result. Let's say the user wants to export via region matrix which means they'd highly likely want to have different tags per region, item, whathaveou. and I'm not sure it's a good use of time to code all that because everyone would want to have per region and per item and per marker tags FWIW. The caveat with putting this in Reaper is all the combinations of scenarios, regions, items, project etc. +1 to MP3Tag btw, I've been using it for years - I just drag all the MP3s into it post render. In most ID3 apps, they just save the container with the new meta data. Edit ID3 tags in all popular audio formats Rename and sort audio files. Tags are meta data and have nothing to do with the actual audio bits so no re-encoding would ever be needed regardless of app - the only difference is if you are, as per the audacity statement is if you also export (aka re-render) the file which is re-encoding the audio portion. Click the Save playlist or Export data button to complete exporting tags. ![]() Audacity does not re-encode if you 'Save', only if you 'Export'. ![]()
